By traditional metrics, American students are improving academically. But these metrics fail to meet the demands of a world where international competitors are threatening U.S. preeminence on multiple fronts, according to the Partnership for 21st Century Skills. The Partnership recently released a "State Leader's Action Guide to 21st Century Skills," which identifies the key elements of 21st century learning and strategies state leaders can take to ensure U.S. students are prepared for success in a globally competitive society.
