Gina Burkhardt Chief Executive Officer Learning Point Associates Gina Burkhardt is chief executive officer of Learning Point Associates, a nationally recognized nonprofit education research and consulting organization that delivers high-quality, client-focused evaluation, policy, research, and professional services. Burkhardt led the organization through its transformation into a non-profit consulting organization with diversified funding, over $30 million operating budget, a staff of 150, and four offices in three states. Burkhardt's expertise includes leadership, organizational development and systems change, district and school improvement, and policy research. She joined the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory(r) (NCREL(r)) in 1997 and was named executive director in 1999. In 2003, under Burkhardt's vision and leadership, Learning Point Associates was created to build on the strength of the regional educational laboratory, with Burkhardt as the chief executive officer. A lifelong educator, Burkhardt began her career as a middle school mathematics and science teacher in upstate New York. Since then, she has held positions in higher education; managed policy initiatives and school reform projects; and consulted nationally and internationally on education systems design. Burkhardt completed her doctoral coursework in educational psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also holds several key professional appointments, including membership in the Consortium on Chicago School Research at the University of Chicago, on the board of directors of the Knowledge Alliance (formerly the National Education Knowledge Industry Association), and is the newest member of the Editorial Projects in Education (EPE) Board of Directors (EPE publishes Education Week). |
