The Partnership for 21st Century Skills developed the Milestones for Improving
Learning and Education (MILE) Guide for 21st Century Skills to assist educators
and administrators in measuring the progress of their schools in defining,
teaching and assessing 21st Century Skills. This MILE Guide will help schools
integrate 21st Century Skills with basic skills, resulting in a stronger, more
effective curriculum. Together, the Report and MILE Guide will help leaders at
the local level to outline a long-term vision for improving education as they
seek to meet the short-term challenges set by No Child Left Behind. Rather than
a daunting list of "add-ons" for already overwhelmed educators, the
Report and MILE Guide will help educators work smarter, not harder.
