Request for Information
The Partnership for 21st Century Skills is a public-private partnership formed to promote public
awareness of 21st century skills for student success in the 21st Century. The Partnership receives
major support and funding from the Department of Education, Apple, Cable
in the Classroom, Cisco Systems, DELL, Microsoft, the National Education
Association, SAP and the Time Warner Foundation. Earlier this year, the
Partnership released its first report, Learning for the 21st Century,
and its companion, MILE (Milestones for Improving Learning and Education)
Guide for 21st Century Skills. Hundreds of educators, school leaders, policy
makers, and non-profit groups guided the development of our work.
In Year Two, the Partnership is focused on furthering refining our Year One work in the following areas:
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Literacy
Professional Development to support ICT Literacy
The Partnership needs your help to further describe what is meant by improving Learning Skills
through the use of 21st Century Tools. One goal will be to clarify the technology
literacy requirements for 8th graders as part of the No Child Left Behind Act.
You can help us:
describe 21st Century Skills, including ICT Literacy (click to see our current Glossary of terms.)
identify research and resources to help us further refine our work on "Teaching and Learning, Leading and Managing, and Partnering" (See our MILE Guide)
provide highlighted examples of implementation, professional development, and assessment strategies for 21st century skills, including ICT Literacy

the related terms shown above. You may respond to any
or all the questions and you may make multiple submissions
if you have more than one project or example to submit.
